We found Our Recon Guys
Artist
Dave Farrow
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
This painting is based on a painting I saw in a book. The one in the book had two figures standing and I don`t know who the artist was. This painting however is based on a true event that took place in early to mid December of 1966. Elements of my infantry unit stumbled upon the badly decomposed bodies of three recon troops who were killed by the Vietcong. I will never, ever forget the sight nor smell of those poor souls. It was horrific. War really sucks.

Dave ,I think it is time to resurrect this piece of art and remind ourselves, What the price of War really means. And this work address those who didn't come home. There are all those countless others from all US wars, past and present, who have suffer from Agent Orange, nerve gas,VG gas, brain trama concussion, PTSD, and missing limbs. As I have written ,I know first hand what War does.Peace my friend, Susan FAV and FACE

Thank you Dave for serving/sharing/creating/reminding us that 'war sucks'!!! Smudley Butler said it best, "War is a racket." No one has ever been held accountable for the 'false flag' (Gulf of Tonkin) that lost so many lives. Including two of my husband's first cousins. This painting hits close to home.
Dave Farrow replied:
Susan dear, thank you for your profound comment. It saddens me to know of your husbands loss. Again, war sucks

Dave, you visited my site recently and paid me respect by saluting me for a law enforcement piece I posted. Let me have the honor now of being the one who salutes you, sir. Not just for this incredibly powerful piece of art, but for the events you partook in that inspired this painting. No more need be said.
