Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
This painting depicts the chaos experienced during an intense firefight in Vietnam. These running gun battles usually erupted unexpectedly and lasted anywhere from ten minutes to a couple of hours. Our enemy always seemed to vanish into thin air. Like we said, "It don`t mean nothin`, not a thing".

Wow, Dave, this evokes so much emotion! Even without reading the description, I feel it. After reading it, I'm amazed at what you can do with paint and a canvas and words. Thank you.

Dave, I read Elizabeths post before me and she is spot on. You have rendered an amazing depiction of the horrors you have faced. This painting moves me so much, the thoughts and feelings of a horrific time in someones life do come back as they have been recreated in your painting with the bright flashes, and vividness. I sympathize with this depiction of the chaos in ones mind. So beautifully done though.. I am amazed by your depth of artistic talent, from brush,to mind,to heart. Your art says it all!

Dave, this is astonishing. I am very moved by it and find the so-beautiful firestorm an awesome statement of the intensity you and so many others endured. You take us back to a chaotic time; i was of your age then and thought of you guys every day. That era shaped my own life but far less painfully than it did yours. You are my brother, Dave; I love you, dear friend. l/f/g+

Wow! I just don't know how you all survived! I think I could not have made it through. I can also imagine that the physical and emotional torment was much worse that what is depicted here and all I can do is be ever so greatfull for you and all the rest of our brave soldiers! f/love

Excellent. I agree completely with Aaron's comments below. The danger of the instant you captured is quite intense. Excellent work.
