It is with a very heavy and sad heart that I must inform you of Dave's passing on November 13th 2018. He loved being part of this site with all of his heart. He enjoyed reading and responding to all his comments and making comments to his other artists buddies as well. I just wanted to make sure you all know why he is not responding to your comments. Not only have I lost my husband of 40 years, my best friend, my soul mate but the world has lost a wonderful person, artist and soul as well. Sincerely, Lorraine Farrow Don`t let the bio photograph scare you. Seven other veterans and myself grow pony tails to donate to wigs for kids with cancer. You depict the horrors of war and of wars in a most striking manner. What has done by, and to all who participated - is indeed stuff real nighmares are made of. And possible worse, and certainly shameful, is the way the surviving and soul-destroyed victims have been neglected and shunted away by the societies they fought for.

Hi, Dave! I came here from seeing you on Anne-Elizabeth's site. I have a bit of personal experience with Vietnam vets. This post-traumatic physical AND mental suffering is really too unfair -- well, "All's Unfair in Love and War!" And more and more so. Truly, I believe there is no beginning to understanding if one has not had some first-hand experience! Your paintings are marvelous! Not just the war ones. Your closeness to nature and animals is beautiful! I can feel their vitality to you as what I know of trying to paint myself -- I didn't start till my late -60's. Now 75 and told by more than one doc that I don't have enough lung tissue left to support another bout with Pneumonia. But I've had a lot of help, attitudes and foods: 6 - 8 years longer now than I expected to live. Painting's a whole lot of it for me. My hair's for those who need it, too! Isn't that a great idea: giving something I grew and that is a part of me to help the lives of others! I'm out of energy, Dave, and it's difficult to resist the temptation to do things like this longer, but I work at trying to understand and accept the bargaining between getting more time(s) up if I quit at the first sign. So all the best in courage and life and loving as much and many as you can, Dave! Peace, etc., Bruce
