About Dave Farrow
Don`t let the bio photograph scare you. Seven other veterans and myself grow pony tails to donate to wigs for kids with cancer. Seven of the eight vets either have or have survived cancer.I was not the lucky one................................................................................................................... My name is Dave Farrow. I will soon be 68 years old. I live among the rolling hills of east central Ohio in the city of New Philadelphia.I have never received any formal art education being completely self taught. It seems that I am never satisfied with anything I paint. My enthusiasm for painting however, is anything but unsatisfying. In 1966 and 1967 I did a tour of duty with the U.S. Armys` First Infantry Division in Vietnam. Although I enjoy painting a variety of things, much of my painting is based on personal experiences as well as some of the horrific nightmares I have endured over the years related to my time in " the `Nam". All paintings related to Vietnam are done to honor the 58,000 brave young Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice. May they never be forgotten.
