Description
This is one of my earliest paintings. It was done in `69 or `70. It was done over a period of weeks. As I painted it, I would just keep adding whatever came to mind at the time. I never did like the piece.

Now, Dave -- you never did like the piece? Seriously?? It's brilliant and so creative. You have taken what could be just another typical still life and added intrigue, interest, life and whimsy. I love the fact that I notice something new every time I look at it. It's as if you were combining a dream with reality, adding a touch of music from the heart, and sharing a beautiful piece of your world. Well done, indeed, my friend. L/F/Tw

So much to look at, and enjoy! I love the deep rich depth of warmth and life you have shared with us....much like you yourself. Full of warmth and life.

Dave, I love this piece! Browsing your gallery, I see a story in almost every painting. This painting grabbed me not only because of the color palette, but there are so many interesting bits that draw the eye and even entertain. I love the banjo man with the notes on his shirt and pants and the hidden faces behind the wall. Am I even seeing a face in the bottom of that left pear? Very cool! L/F
